Question.
Is there a freeware awk program for DOS available on the Internet?
Kent Nemoto, Hickam AFB, Hawaii
Answer.
You can get a copy of the awk freeware, an MS-DOS text scanning and processing language, at an FTP site at Sogang Univeristy in Seoul, South Korea, says Wayne Spivak, president of SBA.NET.WEB, an Internet and World-Wide Web consulting firm in Bellmore, NY .
Use anonymous FTP to link to ftp.sogang.ac.kr. Then change directories to msdos_oakland/awk. You'll find the awk320.zip file as well as reviews of awk for MS-DOS and awk code for handling phone/address databases.
You can reach Spivak via the Internet at waynes@netcom.com or by pointing your Web browser at http://www.ronin.com/SBA.
