So Many Choices, So Little Time Stuart Weiss has given readers the wrong impression concerning the implementation of an integrated accounting system in "Power to the PC" (Buyer's Guide, January [1992]). The statement made by James Buoincontri at the end of the article concerning the ne ed to modernize - "If you've ever put in a system, you hope you never have to" - leads the reader to conclude that installing a new accounting system is a nightmare. But, companies where employees have experience in system implementation or those firms t hat hire a competent consutlant, can painlessly put in a new system.

CFOs would do better to follow the advice given by Gloria Morris, president of Computer Information & Accounting Systems, Inc. As she notes, writing down objectives , forming a project team, and evaluating current systems will lead to a smooth system ins tallation and implementation.
